Big sister... departure day

Maggie has been getting frustrated with all the new things that are off limits.  "No, the swing is for the baby.  No, that's the baby's toy.  No, that is Henry's crib."  It seems that for the last few weeks she has known her life was about to change.  Of course, she didn't like the changes she could see.  When she walked into the hospital room she wouldn't speak and shyly hid in the corner of the room.  She slowly warmed up to Henry.  After his first day home, I think she feels less threatened.. although she got a bit jealous when Henry was breastfeeding.  She does genuinely respond to his soft cries and you can see it in her eyes that she understands her little brother. Ah... finally someone I can relate my woes to.

  1. Those sibling pictures are oh so sweet. She will continue to just love him and help mother him. Sara, you look absolutely beautiful! Motherhood suits you so well. :)

  2. Just beautiful! What a sweet little family. :) I do remember how hard it was for the previous baby and it did feel like all I said to that child was 'no'...so hard. I hope you enjoy settling in together and getting to know Henry!!

  3. Oh my word he is just so darling. SO SO DARLING. That last picture is about to break my heart (happily). Seriously. (I happen to adore the top picture too.) Maggie looks so sweet holding Henry. I am sure it will be a bit hard on her. Brian and I always said Tanner was never quite the same after adding Brayden into the picture. But, they do get use to it. And really, aren't siblings the best? I miss you guys. REALLY really miss you.

  4. Sweet pics. :) I'm glad Maggie is adjusting. That phase was a little hard for Ellie, but she got over it really quick.

  5. YEAH for more pictures!! I love the Sara/Henry shots. He just has the sweetest little face! And I love the Maggie kisses. She'll adapt so that soon enough she won't ever remember life without Henry!! But it will take a few weeks or maybe months.

I find it helps if I always counter whatever I say "no" about with something that is just for Raymond. (ie. No that's teh baby's swing... here's YOUR chair!)

PS. I think you should move to SLC so we could be neighbors...
